(December 2005) The University of
Kansas, Institute for Life Span Studies at Parsons invites applications
for one non-teaching faculty equivalent position at the Assistant/Associate
Scientist rank. This position is for a professional to develop
and direct new initiatives in research, training, and/or development
of model services and programs for persons with disabilities through
grant funded programs. Preference will be given to individuals
with successful publication and grant writing experience. Required
Qualifications Assistant Scientist: Doctoral degree in human development,
special education, psychology, or related field; Evidence of strong
potential for independent external funding; Written evidence of
current or planned research or program development appropriate
to the mission of the Life Span Institute; Recent publications
in referred journals or other outlets; Documented experience in
public speaking as evidenced by scholarly presentations, workshops,
or other venues; Ability to work successfully with other professionals
in a cooperative research environment; and Research/Program interests
that are compatible with the mission of the Institute. Additional
Required Qualification-Associate Scientist: Evidence of funded,
external grants and contracts at the PI level; Experience in project
management/program development; and Evidence of a body of programmatic
research, training, or model service development. Upon request
